ParaGuard is the only fish and filter safe aldehyde based (10% by weight) parasite control product available. Unlike highly toxic and difficult to use formalin based medications, ParaGuard contains no formaldehyde or methanol and will not alter pH. ParaGuard employs a proprietary, synergistic blend of aldehydes, malachite green, and fish protective polymers that effectively and efficiently eradicates many ectoparasites on fish and external fungal/bacterial/viral lesions . It is particularly useful in hospital and receiving tanks for new fish and whenever new fish are introduced to a community tank. For use in freshwater or marine. ParaGuard is recommended for the treatment of certain diseases in marine and freshwater fish only. It IS NOT recommended for treating any style aquarium containing invertebrates, corals, crustaceans, or elasmobranchs (sharks and rays).

Yeah but did they die...
Hands down the best. I tried a couple of other brands.. API was just food coloring and made my fish lethargic and it didn't cure the ick issue I hàd. Tetra was alright it seemed to lessen the symptoms of ick but didn't cure it. Then there are others who's motto is "but did your fish die",with mixed reviews.
Seachem did what it said it would and with a quickness. Three doses and my fish were looking and acting better, five doses and all issues were gone. No return of symptoms in over two weeks. So I' d say issue resolved after a good tank cleaning and Seachem!! Save yourself the time money and headaches. Buy Seachem to begin with, you'll thank yourself. No fish died during these product tryouts.
