How to prevent static electricity computer damage with anti-static PC tools
Learn what antistatic tools you need to protect your computer parts like RAM, CPU, video card from static electricity which can damage or break your computer parts.
An anti-static mat, and anti-static strap connected to a bare metal part on your computer which is grounded like your case or power supply will protect your PC from static electricity computer damage.
You can also wear anti-static gloves to further protect your static sensitive parts on your computer from damage.
If you do not have an anti-static mat, anti-static strap, anti-static gloves, you can touch a metal part inside your computer case like the power supply, or case to ground yourself temporarily, but avoid moving your feet too much since you might generate static electricity.
There are also anti-static bags which you can use to transport static sensitive computer parts like RAM, PCI expansion cards, hard drive and other parts, so you do not zap them with static. But, once the parts are outside of the bag, they are no longer protected from static electricity.
There are also anti-static sprays which you can spray on carpet, so you prevent static build-up on carpet while you are walking around on the carpet.
