Improve Your Gold Farm [Minecraft 1.21.5 Tutorial]
In today’s tutorial, I’ll show you how to build an improved sorting system for the drops from your zombified piglin-based gold farm. If you're still using a classic hopper filter setup, this method will help you take your farm to the next level.
The standard hopper filters may struggle to keep up with the high output of gold, nuggets, and other drops due to their limited speed. This can cause lag and even despawning items. In this video, I’ll show you a system that uses pistons and packed ice to move items across a platform, where they’re quickly picked up by double-speed hopper filters—allowing you to sort items in bulk rather than one by one.

System Overview:
1. Piston Clock: The pistons trigger with perfect timing, launching items across the platform to be picked up by double-speed hoppers.
2. Item Filters: These filters allow you to quickly sort items into their respective chests (nuggets, ingots, etc.), and you can customize the system based on the efficiency of your gold farm.
3. XP Collection: All XP is funneled to the player via a trapdoor and floor setup.
4. Efficient Item Disposal: Use fire or lava to eliminate unwanted drops, such as rotten flesh and swords.
Before we start building, remember: This tutorial does not cover how to build the gold farm itself, as many guides already exist. I’m focusing on improving the sorting system and killing mechanism.
