It was my third visit to Los Angeles and the primary purpose of this trip was to see family relatives, witness the US Presidential Election, pay visits to the Libraries of former Presidents, the Route 66 and Joshua Tree National Park, etc. We flew in A380 which was almost full. It took over 10 hours to get to Los Angeles. Upon arrival we were met by a relative and had light dinner in a restaurant in China Town. We stayed in the 100 years old Millennium Biltmore in downtown LA which prides itself on its connection with the Oscar and a collection of architectural wonders. It is also a landmark in LA and has been a location filmed in many movies and television shows.
The next day was the US Presidential Election day and the result of it would definitely impact on both the American and world politics. On the voting night, I had the opportunity to accompany my cousin to one of the voting centres and see her casting her vote. The process was open, very automated and did not take much time. Other than voting for the president, one has cast vote on many local issues as well. No doubt witnessing this great election in person was an unforgettable experience of a lifetime. Enjoy.
