The Alvord Desert is a desert located in Harney County, in southeastern Oregon, in the United States. The Alvord Desert is a dry lake 19 km long and 11 km wide and two mountain ranges separate it from the Pacific Ocean: the Pacific Coast Range and the Cascade Range. During the dry season, the surface is flat enough to allow cars to pass or small planes to land.
