MOTHERLAND MONUMENT | Kiev, Ukraine
Standing proudly on the skyline of Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, is the 62-meter high statue of the Motherland, also commonly known as Rodina-Mat.
Officially it bears the name Motherland Calls! and is the second sculpture of a triptych dedicated to the sacrifice and heroism of the Soviet people in their struggle against the invasion initiated by Hitler.
The statue is part of the Museum of the Great Patriotic War in Kiev. It is 62 meters high and was built of steel.
