The EVOLUTION of CHILDHOOD GAMES
The progression from roleplay to mischief in our childhood entertainment has always interested me. Especially now that I'm entering my late 20's and circling back around to being interested in roleplay again.
You go from playing house one year to screaming at people on Xbox Live and throwing snowballs at cars the next.
There's always been something I felt like I lost during that transition. I used to love grabbing a wrestling figure with a friend so we could then play out their lives; but that was gone the second we discovered firecrackers.
I finally feel like I'm starting to recapture a bit of that magic getting into tabletop games again and by taking part in roleplay servers like NoPixel.
Join me as I explore the past and evidently teach a course on imagination.
