The marriage between sociology professor Patrick and psychotherapist Julia is a successful, stable union, envied by many. It's a partnership where they find security and inspiration, but one thing is missing: sexuality. Informed and open, the two decide to outsource the "problem."
On an internet portal, Patrick finds the young Claire: natural, intelligent, attractive—in other words, desirable. Claire is a woman who knows exactly what she's doing, who rejects the victim role, and who cleverly uses her erotic capital to ensure her financial security. Patrick and Julia agree on conditions: the affair should not jeopardize their marriage, should not affect their daily lives, their families, or their professional lives, but should remain solely focused on sex. Patrick is unable to control his emotions as he thought possible.
When Claire learns from him that Julia is not only privy to the relationship but is merely a means to an end for them both, she begins to cross the established boundaries, penetrating ever deeper into their daily lives—not only Patrick's but also Julia's—thus jeopardizing their entire existence.
