Poolside set from the Coconut Club stage Saturday afternoon, 5-6:30PM. Sound system by Funktion One. Thankfully my batteries held out and I recorded the entire set from start to finish. I was swimming in the lake with my inflatable elasmobranch ISS, the International Shark Station when this set began and in-person, this was a dramatic change of pace from the Brothers Macklovitch who had played the set before this. I had hoped to use some photos from the fest for the image on this video but I cannot find hardly ANYTHING online which surprises me. The weather was rainy and not ideal for a good section of the weekend although Saturday things were perfect and partly sunny.
I dried off to come check on the taping setup a few tracks in; felt like the crowd took some time to settle into the slower pace. Regardless of the much different DJs which bookended this set, I dig the energy and it has good replayability. I have maybe relistened to this set more than any of the others I taped at the fest, probably because I gravitate to chill energy a lot of the time at home.
For some reason whenever he grabs the mic to talk, the mic audio is clipping, which it really was in-person. Music is fine though... odd. If you were there, I was the guy with the two mics covered in Same Same But Different socks since I couldn't find windscreens big enough to cover the mics I was using. Big shout out to the dude who price-checks the mics halfway through the set lol. If you're out there listening mic critique man, I want you to know these MXLs were custom modded with fancy audiophile capacitors :D Also scope the Amazon reviews, just sayin'.
