Griz set from the main ("Same") stage Friday night 9-9-22 midnight to 1:30AM. Sound system by Funktion One, awesome set, maybe the highest energy of the fest for me. First part of the set was really bombastic, came out with a lot of in-your-face intensity but the moment for me when I was really "in it" was the buildup/drop for the Rufus Du Sol "Innerbloom" remix which begins at 20:13... when he grabbed the sax and played that line over the top of the beat drop, whew man, gave me the feels. Right after that he goes into an Elton John "Rocket Man" remix which made me laugh in the moment as I was like ok this is just silly, but then when the chorus rolls around it's actually pretty badass. Funkonaut is a favorite of mine, and also the Beatles Come Together remix at 55:03 just had an awesome crowd energy in person, got the people dancing hard when it hit.
I missed the beginning of the set since this was the first thing I tried recording on the main stage and holy smokes it was loud, I had to dig into the menus on my recorder and bring all the levels down so it wouldn't clip. Also I was using phantom powered mics which eat batteries like candy so there was a small moment of about 1-2 minutes in the middle of the set where I had to swap in new ones. See if you can spot it. If you were there, I was the guy with the two mics covered in Same Same But Different socks since I couldn't find windscreens big enough to cover the mics I was using.
