We just happen to pop into the woods at the right spot while metal detecting because the first thing we found was a 1700s Tombac button. We were hiking out to a cellar hole but figured with the chance of rain we would start closer to where we entered the woods. With the Fisher F19 and teknetics G2 plus we were on it and any signal we heard we would dig. The thing is reading the landscape history in this area it does not even look like people where doing things centuries ago. No rock walls, no improved land and still a long way away from a proper old deserted farm. But there we were digging up all kinds of old relics hundreds of years old kind of speed around this now over grown place.
