Being under the rocks for 200 years kept this thing preserved wow!
What a find where the rock wall had fallen down who knows how long ago. We went metal detecting at two old places today and the first cellar hole is a mess. Trash, junk and noisy as hell with the metal detectors but we wanted the challenge to see what we could find. A great rare 1904 Roosevelt Fairbanks campaign luggage tag was dug up and that's some history. The second spot was a long deserted homesite abandoned back in the mid 1800s and the first find was a remarkable condition 1700s dinnerware knife with the bone scales still intact. Actually amazing condition and it must have been preserved from being under the rocks where the stone wall fell. We also found old clothing buttons, tools, knives, spoons and more. All of us ran the Teknetics and Fisher small 5 inch coils today to isolate the targets in the ground. As well a US army eagle button.
