Database Functions are easy to use. Whether you use DSUM, DCOUNT, DAVERAGE, etc. you use the same three required arguments: Database, Filed, Criteria.

If you use Data Tables or Lists, you probably use Filters to query your list. Now, use a Database Function to capture the total or the average for the results that match your criteria.

Database functions take a few minutes to set-up. You want to create a Criteria Range and to create an area to hold the results of your Database Formulas. Once that is done you have an Excel Dashboard - you can get quick answers about the information in your data table.
