In this FaderPro Track Deconstruction, Midlands-based DJ and Producer Fleur Shore gives us a whistle-stop tour of her track, Unique, which came out on the MicroHertz imprint at the end of summer 2023. In the course, she discusses the inspiration behind the track, the main processes used during its production, and how things went down the first time she played the track out to its intended audience.
Despite being a relative newcomer to the world of house and techno, Fleur Shore has managed to make a significant mark on the scene through releases on the likes of Cuttin’ Headz, Tamango Records, MicroHertz and Eats Everything’s Edible label. Her 2022 track Manizer was released on the latter, and has amassed over 820 thousand streams on Spotify. When she’s not adding to her diverse catalog of groovy house productions, Fleur is playing them to the masses in some of the most electric clubs in the world.
This small but perfectly formed course sees Fleur demonstrating some of the key techniques needed to create huge, groovy club tracks that really make an impact on the dancefloor. In the course, she covers subjects including sound design, EQing, song structure, using arpeggios, automation and much more.
In this track deconstruction, Fleur uses Ableton Live to construct her track Unique. Much of the processing she applies throughout the deconstruction is done using Ableton’s own native devices, including EQ Eight, Phaser, Arpeggiator and Auto Filter. As well as that, Fleur has a few firm favorite synth and processing plugins in her plugin folder which she uses throughout the course.
