The Case for Nature-Based Solutions | GenZero Climate Summit 2023 | Day 2
Nature-based solutions offer a promising path towards meeting the Paris Agreement target of limiting global warming to 1.5°C by 2030, providing almost a third of the necessary emissions reductions. With abundant opportunities to accelerate mitigation, ranging from optimising unused land to increasing biodiversity, these solutions offer multiple benefits for both the environment and local communities. However, despite growing interest from public and private sectors, challenges to scalability persist.
The panel, titled ‘The Case for Nature-Based Solutions,’ explored the opportunities and obstacles around nature-based solutions as we plant seeds of hope for a net-zero future.
