Dance It Again With Me--Art Hickman's Orch., 1919
From 9/15/1919 (thanks, Barry!). I was certain I had put this up before--but... nope. As you will hear, this is an imperfect copy, but it's still the best of the three in my collection. Maybe my favorite Art Hickman side. And, speaking of Ferde Grofe (we were?), in a March, 1937 "Popular Songs" interview, Grofe talked about his time as an arranger for Hickman! Prior to his Paul Whiteman gig, of course, which started in 1920. Hickman may be best known for writing "Rose Room," which my jazz-musician dad called "The 'How High the Moon' of its day."
