MINDZAPP 5: Ramaputratantra

Ramaputratantra is a Bandung-based artist and instrument builder. He's also the guitarist for Gaung, a band who combined many hard music elements from stoner rock to thrash metal.
During his performance in Mindzapp 5, Ramaputratantra played a music instrument of his own design called aumkara. It was built from endless cultural research and exploration towards acoustic sound phenomenon of waditra (a music instrument from West Java) and also a handful music instrument from East Asia.
His main goal in designing aumkara is to further progress the Indonesian/Asian ethnoacoustics. "It's important for it to become progressive in this accelerating time," he stated.
