THE FIRST PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES
The United States is a relatively young country in the grand scheme of history. While it is now the world's leading power, the United States was born from a war of independence against Great Britain, which then controlled the region. One man emerged from this conflict: George Washington. He, who so effectively led the army during the war, would become the very first president of this new nation.
