First day of Fasting | Cook with Me | Ramadan Vlog

As salaamu alaikum and Ramadan Mubarak! In today’s vlog, I show you guys what our first day of fasting is like! I only converted to Islam 5 years ago so this is just my 5th Ramadan but it’s a very different one because it is the first time where I am in charge of ALL THE COOKING! It’s a pretty big responsibility and it definitely takes a lot of time management skills because I’m also a full time med student.

Chicken Reshmi Kebab Recipe:
500g of chicken cut into cubes
3tsp of ginger and garlic paste
3/4 tsp of salt
2 tsp of lemon juice
Mix all of this thoroughly
Add 4 tbsp of yogurt or cashew cream (non dairy option)
1/2 or 1tsp of chilli powder
1/2tsp of black pepper
1tsp of garam masala (or 1/2tsp if it’s fresh)
1/2 of all spice or nutmeg
1/4tsp of salt
1tsp of coriander powder
Mix all of this together and marinade for a minimum of 2 hours.
Cook the chicken in medium heat and serve with rice or paratha

I converted to Islam in August 2015 and I put my story up on youtube shortly after I told my parents about my reversion to Islam.
