Are you an extraordinary leader? Are you an extraordinary lover?
Most people have never considered that the same quality that makes someone exceptional at leading people is the very same quality that makes them exceptional at loving people. But it is. And in this video, I'm going to share what that quality is — and three practical exercises you can start today to develop that quality.
The quality is presence. Radical, undistracted, full-bodied presence. And almost nobody has it.
We live in a world that has trained us out of presence, however. Technology fills every gap.
Stimulation is constant. And most of us have completely forgotten how to simply be — with ourselves, with our emotions, and with the people right in front of us.
In this video, I walk through three skills that will help you cultivate the kind of presence that transforms how you lead and how you love:
1. Learn to be bored again. Boredom isn't a problem — it's the doorway to self-regulation, clarity, and inspired thinking. I'll share why reclaiming boredom is one of the most overlooked life skills we've lost and simple ways to practice it starting today.
2. Feel your emotions — don't just think them. Most people think their emotions instead of actually feeling them in the body. I'll walk you through how to name what you're feeling, locate it in your body, and be present with it — without commentary, without judgment, and without trying to fix it.
3. Become a journalist. The best leaders and lovers are deeply, honestly curious about other people. I'll share how to develop the kind of curiosity that makes the people around you feel truly witnessed — and why witnessing someone might be the deepest form of love there is.
These aren't abstract ideas. These are daily practices that will fundamentally change how you show up — at work, at home, and in every relationship that matters to you.
