Daily Energy Budget | FWC CII.20
Daily energy budget is discussed in terms of radiative energy budget and non-radiative energy fluxes. Radiative energy budget is broken into downward shortwatve radiation, upward shortwave radiation, downward longwave radiation and upward longwave radiation. Other energy fluxes are sensible energy, latent energy and heat conduction to deeper layers in the ground. We also discuss energy flux measurements in winter and summer in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Radiaative energy budget is also used to describe daily variability of temperature, daily minimum temperature and daily maximum temperature.
This video follows Chapter II (“Energy, radiation and earth’s energy budget”) of Fundamentals of Weather and Climate and is Lecture 20 in this series.
