3 Reasons Why Satan Fears Meeting Umar ibn Khattab
Satan has many ways to deceive humans. His temptations come from various directions, in various forms, and his whispers know no place or time. He is always present in both crowds and silence. However, there is one human being whom Satan fears most, even if he encounters this figure.
This news was conveyed directly by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Narrated by 'Aisha, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Indeed, Satan flees in fear when he meets Umar." Narrated by Ibn Ash-Syakkir.
In another hadith, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "O Ibn al-Khattab, by Him in Whose Hand my soul is, Satan will never wait for you while you are on a path except that he will seek another path that you have not taken."
Meanwhile, in another hadith, the Messenger of Allah said, "Indeed I saw devils from among humans and jinn running from Umar." HR. Ath-Tirmidhi
Apparently Satan was very afraid of one of the Prophet's friends, Sayyidina Umar's authority was so bright that Satan was reluctant to meet him.
