Why are we so negative? If humans are the smartest animals why are we so unhappy. Are humans designed to be so blimmin' grumpy? Thankfully there is a reasonable explanation!
Being aware of danger can protect us. However, being overly cautious can lead to avoidant behaviours and limiting beliefs in adulthood.
The unconscious mind plays a role in this by perceiving negative experiences from childhood and trying to keep us safe from similar threats.
From an evolutionary perspective, being attuned to potential dangers increases our chances of survival. While it is important to be mindful of impending danger, it is also beneficial to take breaks from this fear and enjoy the positive aspects of life.
Sometimes, the anticipated dangers may not turn out to be as bad as we initially thought.
