Wolfnest is for the enlightened nomad. A place for retreat and getting away from the crowd. A place where all the feelings come together in a concept tiny house. The essence behind the project was all about being one with nature without disturbing it and creating a balanced dialogue between the modular unit and the site that it sits on. Small square footage allows a sense of manageability and control over the space and it really is hard to lose-track. It embodies a fast, functional and most importantly problem-solving attitude.
Sustainability has been a great motive for the project because the design itself suggests creative solutions for re-using resources such as rain water with the help of in-house design systems, sunlight and wind and all this was considered to be achievable at a minimum cost and budget.
It is an alternative to the busy city life routine and offers mental serenity. The program was considered to be a getaway for two people maximum for a short-period of time, for example a long weekend. It offers a one-bedroom, kitchen, restroom and a transforming living space all in one unit. All of the unit functions are designed according to how much green energy could be utilized to self-sustain. As much as the inside systems the units relation to outside was also a challenge factor to build upon. Personal farming has to have a place in our lives considering the decline in resources in the world and Wolfnest was designed with the plan to expand the main unit with add-ons that are specific to certain needs and functions, that is the beauty of modularity and unit.
