How to Simplify Radicals

In this video, I demonstrate how to simplify various radicals with both numbers and variables. In this process, you will find that doing a "factor tree" for larger numbers can be extremely helpful. When finding the prime factorization, I recommend starting first by dividing number by 2 until it won't divide by 2 any more, then 3, then 5, and so on. This helps keep the factor tree organized, which helps when writing the prime factors in exponential form under the radical. Of course, finding the prime factorization isn't always necessary if the square roots/cube roots are immediately noticeable.
