Monitoring and Metering Audio Levels on the R5C - EOS R5C Tip 17
Monitoring and metering your audio levels is essential to getting good quality recordings. While the EOS R5C isn't a power house audio recorder, it does provide all the tools you need to be able to do this effectively.
This video covers how you can use headphones to monitor what you're recording and adjust both their volume and what channels you're monitoring.
Moreover, while listening to what you're doing is never a bad thing, since this is all digital capture we have to be more precise about our levels to insure we don't actually hit the clipping point. Consequently, we'll also look at the level meters built into the camera. This includes looking at the two hidden system status screens that aren't accessible by default.
