How I Hide a Lav Mic with a Moleskin or Magskin Sandwich - Get a Grip E5
Even though it's entirely acceptable in the kind of content that I produce, I don't like having a mic visible in frame. Normally I use a boom mic, but that limits how much I can move and where I can look or the audio quality drops. In response to the need to move around more, I've started using a lav mic in many of my videos, but I still don't want to see it.
The solution I've found to my problem is what's known as a Moleskin sandwich. However, because that relies on the moleskin's adhesive backing it's not reusable. So I've adapted it into what I call a magskin sandwich, a resalable version that uses small rare earth magnets to hold it in place and it can be reused over and over.
