Back in episode 36 I talked about tracking aribtrary subjects with the EOS R5C and Canon's cinema EOS OS. One comneter in that video pointed out that while I said you couldn't use touch to track, you actually could. He was right, I was wrong, and so this time we're looking at how to use the camera's touch screen to track arbitrary subjects.
Of course, nothing comes without a catch, and the catch for this is that we have to configure our cameras to either always use servo AF (most likely) or never use it in order to get the camera to use the whole area AF setting so that touch tracking works.
So while the process is really just as simple as change continuous servo to to either enable or disable, and set the AF frame to whole area, then just touch on what you want to track. There's actually a lot more nuance in what the camera is going to do when you make those changes.
