Words matter.
I have learned more new words and phrases in the past week than I can remember.
Social Distancing. Self Isolation. Flattening the Curve.
In an age where we have been more connected to the rest of the world via “social media” than ever before, the concept of “social distancing” is taken almost literally.
Is it really “social distancing” or is it “spatial distancing” that is going to “flatten the curve”?
It is times like these where we NEED more social connection because we removed our physical relationships with each other. We need to connect and reconnect with those who feel isolated and detached to the world.
If this happened 10, 20, 30 years ago... can you imagine how isolated we would feel as compared to what we are going through now?
We have Facebook, FaceTime, Zoom, Messengers, Mobiles, WhatsApp... the INTERNET!!!
Words you choose can change your context. They change the ACTIONS and BEHAVIOURS you take.
The way forward through this period is to consider to choose your WORDS wisely.
