Policy Surveillance - Introductory Training
This webinar, recorded on August 13, 2019, provides a comprehensive overview of policy surveillance methods and applications. Policy surveillance is the systematic, scientific collection and analysis of laws and institutional policies of health significance. Policymakers, advocates, the media and others may capture and measure important features of laws and policies by utilizing policy surveillance and other scientific legal mapping techniques. They may also identify how regulations may vary across jurisdictions and over time. Policy surveillance creates data suitable for use in rigorous evaluation studies, addresses the chronic lack of readily accessible, nonpartisan information about the status and trends in health legislation and policy, and provides the opportunity to build policy capacity in the public health workforce by speeding the diffusion of innovation.
