Milling through cast iron vice | Adcock & Shipley 1ESG milling machine
A short video (no narration) showing a HSS shell mill being used to mill through the body of a cast iron milling vice. The vice is being milled down and will be converted into fixture for a surface grinder. Spindle speed is about 200 RPM and feed rate is about 20mm / min (0.8 in / min). Feed rate can be increased without excessive vibration. There is some vibration on exiting the cut and I intend to make a few adjustments to the machine.
