HSS shell milling cutter | Adcock Shipley 1ESG vintage milling machine
A short video showing my Adcock Shipley 1ESG milling machine in action. I'm using a HSS shell milling cutter (on a 40 international taper shank) to machine some scrap mild steel that will be made into replacement jaws for the milling machine vice. In this video clip I'm taking it easy with a depth of cut about 3 or 4 mm and 20 mm wide. I'm applying soluble cutting oil with a hand held sprayer and room temperature is about 2 degrees C hence there is some visible "steam".
