Lithuanian fiscalization history reaches back to 1996, with an applied hardware system still today, referring to fiscal devices which directly and almost completely determine the layout of receipts. The fiscal device includes a fiscal memory that stores transaction data which cannot be changed.
However, from 2023 it is planned to implement a new fiscalization model called i.EKA.
i.EKA introduces these changes: the cash register should include a security module and a data transmission module, receipt data set will be amended with a specific unique receipt code and fiscal data should be signed with a dedicated digital certificate and transmitted to the tax administration.
Concept is technologically open and not limited by the proprietary solution of any manufacturer.
