Croatia was one of the first countries in the world to introduce the so-called online fiscalization, which was done in 2013. Main characteristic of this fiscalization type is real-time reporting of fiscal transactions via internet to Tax Authorities.
Main elements defining the transaction as unique, secured and fiscalized are:
receipt number
unique identifier of receipt
issuers protection code
There are no obligatory hardware devices that have to be used and there is no certification process for POS applications.
Concept is technologically open and not limited by the proprietary solution of any manufacturer.
