2023 Marin Pine Mountain 1 - Frame and Component Overview
Marin has redesigned the Pine Mountain for 2023 and I got my hands on one to ride and review. The Pine Mountain is their do-it-all bike aimed at people who like mountain biking of any kind and adventure riding like bikepacking.
In this video we will take a close look a the frame and all of the components. We start with the frame which is made from chromoly steel. This is unique and steel bikes certainly have a small but dedicated group of enthusiasts. The Pine Mountain has modern trail geometry which should satisfy the trail riders out there, but it also has tons of gear mounts and interesting handlebars to cater to the bikepacking crowd.
From there, we will cover all of the companents, including:
Shimano Deore 11 speed drivetrain
Shimano MT400/420 brakes
Marin branded stem, handebars and grips
Marin branded crankset with external bottom bracket
Basic seatpost
Vee Tire Flow Snap tires
Stay tuned for a followup video where I get this bike out on the trails and give it a full ride and review. I'm very interested to see if I notice any difference in ride feel or compliance with this steel frame.
