Departed - (Easter Hiphop)
Banged this out on the MV the other day after a funeral. You don't have to be a Christian to enjoy the music but the video does have religious content - your choice to watch or listen. Reminds me of something that Chris AnThony might do (you're a genius, Chris). Starts out somber and builds energy as I add layers. Dual kicks and dual bass give it a good foundation. I panned the open hat left and the closed hat right and used an expander on the high end to make it stand out. I couldn't get quantize to give me the feel I wanted so I turned it off, got me closer but still a couple of spots need tightening. In my head I hear a vocal arrangement that might work... perhaps some other time. All in all I'm pleased with the result and happy to share it with you.
