Beginning, Middle and End Organizer
Sticky notes are a fun and colorful tool to engage children before, during and after stories. Place three sticky notes on a piece of paper. Label them the following way: beginning, middle and end. Before reading, tell your child to search for the events during reading. Encourage your child to mark the text with the notes while reading. Afterward, have your child illustrate and/or write about the events in the corresponding squares. Ask your child to retell the story by using their sticky notes as prompts.
