Streetcar 393 disaster

On November 7th 1916 The operator of Streetcar #393 of the Boston Elevated Railway Company was distracted by a passenger causing him to not see a warning sign that the drawbridge was up. He didn't have time to safely stop the car so he yelled to the passengers to jump. Not everyone heard him. Sadly the car and 46 of its passengers slid off the end of the bridge into the cold water below. There were no survivors. This event seems to have been lost in history as we could only find one photo of the incident but at least now you know.
