On March 29th, 1909, Mary O’Brien Farmer was executed by the electric chair for the murder of her landlord, Sarah Brennan. Mary impersonated Sarah to forge all of her deeds into Mary’s name. Shortly before that, Sarah had gone missing. This made it easy for Mary to evict Sarah’s husband out of his own home. However, officers eventually discovered Sarah’s body stuffed into a trunk in Mary’s pantry and Mary was found guilty of the murder in the first degree.
