Having failed to take Nagashino itself, Katsuyori stares down the barrels of a gigantic Oda-Tokugawa relief force. Ensconced behind stockades and with enough firepower to annihilate the Takeda daimyo's smaller army, Katsuyori's advisors plead with him not to engage. Katsuyori refuses to listen to reason, but (contrary to history) the veteran Takeda generals at least manage to talk their hotheaded charge out of a direct assault on the Oda-Tokugawa position. The very best of the Takeda cavalry are selected to lead a charge around the Oda army's flank. If successful, the appearance of a large body of elite cavalry might force Nobunaga and Ieyasu to abandon their favourable hilltop position and come out to face the Takeda in the open. If enough casualties can be inflicted and the life of either Nobunaga or Ieyasu be directly threatened, perhaps the enemy can be convinced to abandon the battlefield altogether...

Spoilers!
An easy scenario and one I found a bit off-putting given that this was basically a death sentence for the Takeda army in real life. Historically the Takeda confronted the Oda fortifications head on and were decisively beaten. That said, I don't know the details of the battle, so it is possible that something like the assault on the right of the Oda army happened. I'll leave it to viewers far more knowledgeable about the battle than me to pass the final verdict.
