In the Egyptian side of this battle, Thutmose III of Egypt slips his army through a poorly guarded pass to ambush the rebel Syro-Canaanite army from an unexpected direction. Despite his success in this however, the Syro-Canaanite army forms up for battle promptly... and Thutmose realises to his horror that the rebel army is much larger than his scouts initially reported. With the Egyptians on the ropes and the wings of the armies separated, he turns to one of his veteran advisors for a way out of the catastrophe. The plan hatched involves the use of two small mounds to give the Egyptians a fire advantage over their poorly armoured opponents, while the chariots adopt a wide formation in the centre to envelop and ultimately outflank the larger but deeper Canaanite force. It's a desperate gamble, but it may be the Egyptian army's only chance for survival...

The Egyptians have an easier time of things than their poor Syro-Canaanite counterparts, but this was still a tough affair and I'm sitting on a 50-50% success rate. Going wide and then aggressively flanking with the chariots is important, as is ensuring that you don't aggravate the Canaanite infantry too early and you get your right wing into position on the ridge in good order. If you do everything correctly, you have a reasonable shot at winning this battle, but any mistake and you'll be going back to Egypt in a coffin minus some vital organs to make sure you don't come back!
