I slip into the legendary sandals of Julius Caesar. Hoist your shield, grab two pila, because we're off to remind the Helvetii that trespassing is generally frowned on. (Oh, and score political points in Rome of course, but that's totally beside the point.)
Unlike the historical battle, which was fought on the slope of a hill, we meet the Helvetii in open battle around a small lake some way outside of Roman territory in Gaul. The conditions could not be better for our small Roman army. A river crossing will disorder the Gallic infantry, while the lake and the rough ground will prevent any attempt to concentrate their greater numbers against our superior legionaries. We also have a diverse army of skirmishers and mounted archers and unlike in history, I had the foresight to secure some elephant mercenaries from the lands of the Successor kingdoms.
As long as we don't fight like complete morons this should be an easy win.
