We couldn't break this

All the hooks we sell come pre-slung with 4mm polyester cord that breaks around 5 kN. This is just about super strong enough for the bodyweight forces that most aid pieces see. The biggest downside to this is the bulky knot used to tie the cord into a loop. If you hate knots, Skot's Wall Gear will sew a Nylon or Spectra sling onto your hooks, beaks, and cam hooks for $5.00 a sling. He does a variety of colors so identifying hooks on your rack is easier. These are much stronger than 4mm cord, and will likely not break before your hook fully unravels. It turns out breaking webbing connected to a hook is tough because they like to slip well before the webbing breaks!
