Original Epson SMD-480L FDD didn't work on this computer; no floppy and trash icons (0:00). I solved the problem with Sony MPF920-E (E-131, SEPT2001). Long booting time but it works.
It is seen on the picture (2:10), that original 0 ohm resistor stayed in the place JC31 and I just connect JC30 pads with solder bubble.
Left pad of JC31 goes to pin12 of CN1 and this pin goes to nowhere on the motherboard (see schematics, page1, connector J10 FDD controll).
Left pad of JC30 goes to pin10 of CN1 and this pin goes to noise filter L39 and pad1 of W2 on the motherboard.
Right pads of both JC31 and JC30 are tied together and go to lower 3rd pin from the right side of Sony chip.
Computer was made in 11/10/1988.
