This is a sister song to Bluebeard. Elizabeth is singing about her place as a Cocteau Twin and how Robin (and Simon) are alongside her in all of it. (Perhaps the title Three Swept pertains to them being taken away into the experience of musical creation.) She needs and hopes to trust Robin in this journey or creation and production artistically. And she needs faithfulness to their causes in life and in music. To have an intimacy to one's self and family and also to that one person she can truly trust. A song short of lyrics but big on meaning.
I like the sweet warmth of the songs from the time of FCC and there is such an ease and confidence from Liz here that it just makes the listener relax and enjoy the beauty of a song about trust and hope.
