Ups seems to be a sister song to Oil of Angels because Elizabeth sings of letting her faith rise her up from the sorrow she feels. Angels see inside her and know her and so by staying in contact with them she lets them lift herself up from the deep. Everything in life can be sure enough as long as one keeps the faith and sheds their cold reality.
