EPIC Domino Contraption! The Kinetic Playground with KAPLA
It's been a while since I last posted but I'm finally back! For this piece of kinetic art, I built a cylindrical drop tower with helix dominoes, surrounded by a chain of bridges draped across the background. The drop tower utilizes the "colosseum" technique invented by KaplaBen, a brilliant Kapla builder with decades of experience. It is the same technique used in Stage 2 of the World Record Kapla Tower, with modifications to the spiral and destruction sequence at the top.
For the keen-eyed viewers, you may have noticed the fails. There were a couple failures in the front due to misaligned dominoes and the slippery, uneven floor. Also, the vertical domino triggers at the bases of the structures became stuck to the friction between the colored and noncolored planks. Despite this, the main destruction sequences worked virtually flawlessly.
Also, I have big plans for the video on the world record tower, which will become my biggest video project on this channel by miles. I hope to post that within the next month or so. No guarantees though, as I'm back in college and need to focus on my studies.
