This video shows how to build a data logger that writes the altitude of an Estes model rocket to a SD card. Then the altitude data from the SD card is plotted in a line graph using Python. I describe the basics of model rocketry and rocket engines. I also include several hardware payload options to consider besides the Arduino based computer (BME280) such as a video camera and a sonic detector. To complete this project I had to use 2 methods of communication, SPI and I2C. for the altitude module and the data logger.
