How to Make a Makerbot 3D Scanner Calibration Tool and to Calibrate the Makerbot 3D Scanner
This video consists of two parts. The first half describes how to make a fully functioning Makerbot 3D Scanner Calibration Tool from simple, basic household tools and products. The second half descibes the scanner hardware and how to effectively calibrate the two lasers to your homemade calibration tool. Along the way I suggest ways to generate the best scan possible from your 3D scanner. Several pictures of an original Calibration Tool allow viewers to make their own judgment on critical measurements when designing and making their own calibration tool.
This video is no way complete in describing how to build the calibration tool and calibrate your Makerbot 3D scanner. But, currently their is very little information and few good exaples of the Makerbot 3D Scanner and the Calibration Tool. So this is an attempt to aid those who own a scanner without the calibration tool in hopes they will be inspired to upload more examples and information for others.
