Sight Casting to Huge King Salmon in Alaska
Trip of a lifetime! We journeyed to Alaska to celebrate my father's 80th. Our first stop was in a small town called Talkeetna where we got out for a day of fishing with Captain Todd of Fish Bone Charters. From racing up the river in an aluminum jet boat to wading in crystal clear water filled with spawning king salmon the sights were beyond comprehension.
The fish were stacked up in a small tributary off the glacially fed river. There were literally hundreds of them. Bites were not easy as they were spawning and not feeding but we still managed to catch and release 7 beautiful king salmon with the largest fish pushing 30 pounds! Alaska is truly amazing majestic place and the last frontier as advertised. This was a day that I will remember forever with my boys and family.
